Fundamentals 101: Chart of Accounts, Company

Setup, and Navigation

Get started right!  Develop a working knowledge of

accounting concepts right out of the gate.  We'll teach

you what the chart of accounts is and how to set it up

properly for sound financial reporting.  You will set up a

company in QuickBooks and learn about preferences

and desktop navigation.

Fundamentals 102: Working with Lists

Customer, vendor, item and service lists are just a few of the databases in QuickBooks that help track information. Setting up your lists properly will prevent you from entering data twice and will give you accurate financial and historical information pivotal to developing your business.  We will cover setting up customer, vendors, items & services, sales people, and custom fields.

Fundamentals 103:  Using QuickBooks Simply

Using accounting software does not have to be complicated!  You can get great financial reports just by entering checks, recording deposits, and reconciling your bank statement.  We will cover every icon in the "Banking" area of your QuickBooks homepage:  Write Checks, Make Deposits, Enter Credit Card Charges, and Reconciliations.

Fundamentals 104: Accounts Receivable

If you have confusion about the difference between an Invoice and a Sales Receipt, this class is for you! We will review creating Sales Receipts, Invoices, Credit Memos, and Receiving Payments.  We will also show you how to use Sales Orders (QuickBooks Premier versions) and Estimates.  If you take credit card payments, either with Intuit Merchant Services or a separate credit card service, we will show you how to batch your credit card payments to match your daily settlements.

Fundamentals 105: Accounts Payable

Make sense of that pile of bills!  This seminar covers entering bills; paying bills with a check, online, or with a credit card; entering vendor credits and applying them to open balances; using purchase orders; and recording recurring bills such as rent and insurance premiums.
